Getting up – A poem for those who have fallen

Walls closing in

push back.

Stumble.

Once, twice, thrice

falling mightily

sprawling onto

Gaia.

Terra.

Laying prostrate

implored

galvanized

and

divorced

from the hoarseness of defeat.

Standing up –

stronger backs,

not lighter burdens

emboldened

to pull the curtains back.

For

empowerment –

not weakness

that leaves

one in pieces

the telltale signs

creases of stress

tells best

but

blesses better

giving way to peace of mind

in time.

I am digging through the crates and I found my first gem. Love this poem especially this part. “…standing up, stronger backs not lighter burdens” ❤
