On knees that refused to bend – Dear Momma

When my knees buckled

your resolve enveloped me.

When I lost my way

that unextinguishable fire

in the form

of your love

illuminated those darkened paths.

Clothed in the armour

of your selflessness –

absorbing the arrows

that an ugly world flung

towards your treasures

time and again –

on knees

that refused to bend.

Heaven sent –

its beneficence

in the guise

of my Mother.

My Gibraltar

who taught me –

to never falter.

Happy Mother’s Day Momma!
