a Queen crowned
melaninated
royalty bestowed
Mother of the Earth
possessing a crown
acknowledged not inferred.
Those
Birthday ruminations –
as palpitations
ripple through
halls, hearts and minds
of the lives
cultivated by her
countenance –
that
fountain of grace.
