No diseases

When you’re caught up
in the act of doing –
it ain’t no time no telling.

No time for bailing –
no smooth sailing Youngblood –
especially if it is worth it.

Let me torch these thoughts of apprehension with impeccable diction –
unassailable intelligence –
like my Daddy said.

Hitting switches for blessings –
while on knees
no diseases –
praise Jesus –
Yahweh or whatever
manifestation of
God you
serve today –

he don’t inhabit no box –
let me stop –

no theologian, I ain’t scolding
just beholding my thoughts.

Grand takeway –
giving lessons
not transgressions,
so that wisdom
can serve as protection.

Hands extended but –
slapped away and tendered
a serving of middle finger –
but commit to march on.

I’ll be your host –
on this omnipresent journey –
this search for God’s face.
