The new golden rule

Being cruel is the
new golden rule,
it don’t suffice…
to do right…

as the pursuit
of power…
at any cost,
especially if the skin
ain’t seen as a sin
or gender
as handicap
by society….

verily I say unto thee.

debasing truth…
bearing witness
to those who we
thought were
comrades

but who
were merely harboring

lying smiles and
eyes that betrayed
the truth…

as evil convinced
them of this lie…

of staying
in the box…
with this faux belief…

of souls like me,
not as fellow human
but
being less than…
or a threat
to their humanity.
