Side step those
cuts tendered
by those –

who would belittle
your mightiest actions
as inconsequential –
brand your survival
as trivial

rather than consequential –
accuse you
of not even trying.

Their words
aren’t swords –
they don’t have
anything to with you.

There is power and beauty –
in your cuts
keep your
gaze
fixed towards
the heavens.
