Don’t believe your: eyes, ears, heart or your brain and most importantly, don’t harbor any shame.
My response in poetry is as follows:
And they marveled…
about the sacrilegious
conceding greatness
to those who operate
under auspices
of vanity…
gifting sympathy
for the unsympathetic
the suppostion
is pathetic –
the efforts
to sidestep
the inhumanity spewed
on newsreels –
deferring to history
that serves to
congeal and reveal
the reality
of the situation…
the illustrations
replayed on amoled screens,
testaments of
what is real –
the drowning…
in the brackish
waters of blasphemy.
Don’t believe what
your, eyes, ears
and heart communicate…
my fellow humans
they are beesching thee
to rely on hate…
to make us great,
this is what they
will have us
believe.
