Pulling strings

We place people who extract
the ugly rather than
the good from us
on pedestals.

Pulling strings like
Pinocchio by way
of Geppetto
nefarious souls
divorced from notions
of morality
extracting their salaries
as a byproduct…
that is the cessation
of our humanity.

The joke is on them…
don’t respond,
take notes,
then reflect that
onto your foes…
they won’t be
able to cope.

That is how you smote giants with defiance!
