We can’t stop on the path

Conservatism of our humanity, conservatism of the spirit…

Is not unlike the political variety.

As it serves to say:

“Let me stop on the segment of my path and lay down my foundation, because there is nothing of consequence ahead of me. Because the notion of progress, the concept of being better than I am right now, is an impossibility. Let me look down, instead of looking ahead, because searching for God’s face is a fools errand.”

As for me…

I recoil at the thought of remaining who I was yesterday or who I am at this juncture of my life for that matter – it behooves us to be better and at the very least we should be compelled to try.

I’ll gladly choose to run from my past incarnations versus blissfully remaining captive to them.
