What does it mean to be carcinogenic?

The dictionary defines it as: “having the potential to cause cancer.”

Cancer: a disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy healthy body tissue.

Which leads me to my question, one that I think I have the answer to:

Can we be carcinogenic to ignorance wherever it rears its head?

Can we?

I doubt it.

I’m resigned to the tacit understanding of…

“We don’t have the wherewithal.”

Instead.

We’d rather pledge fealty to that which we know will destroy us.

Ignorance is the new norm – and it walks in concert with callous disregard.

My fear is palpable.

This isn’t the calm before the storm – our dissonance has deafened us.

We are finished and we don’t even know it.
