Convicted and sentenced- A poem

Imprisoned in a tomb

of those words

served as

judge, jury and executioner

sentenced to endure

the fury of your

rejection

incarcerated in a prison

by your

characterizations

accused, convicted

serving time

for a crime

uncommitted

unremitted

unrequited

left to lanquish

marinating in

anguish

that is

silent to all

but deafening

to the afflicted.

The echoes

of what once

was

were

and now

manifested as

the

smoldering embers

to be

extinguished by tears

that are never ending.
