A soliloquy of appreciation

I’m built on the wreckage of the lowered expectations that were enveloped in the guise of microaggressions, slights and unadulterated dismissal. Admittedly it left my ego impacted and pock marked not unlike the Earth’s moon.

I treasure those who have maligned and ostracized me on this journey; this ongoing lesson that is my life, because it has been their actions that have provided me with the wherewithal to continue on.

Enemies, nemeses and enemies masquerading as friends… I thank you.

You have been more instrumental than friends and family. In retrospect you served as my cheerleading section when I needed it the most.

I tip my hat in appreciation to you rather than extending my middle finger.

Hmmm. I needed to read this sooner. Life has been unkind as of late. Work stress and just really $&@(; people. We must go on, right? Not too would mean we gave up on the good fight.

Life is…. Consistent. We can say that much Emersen, but you are correct, we have to go on regardless.

Interesting! I think you’re right. We can gain much from those who want to be enemies to us.

If we can see beyond our angst, we can see them in their true light, as our teachers.

Agreed. Teachers are everywhere, and not just as teachers!
