Sometimes you need a hug –
but the cupboard is bare.
No one is there –
a spirit depleted
that doesn’t dare break.
Beseeching the Almighty
hoping to be refined –
in the divine.
It is critical that we to learn how to hug ourselves in a ugly world.
Like James Brown eloquently stated on Superbad:
“jump back, I wanna kiss myself“
And – when we are through dancing through the minefields of that which intended to destroy.
It is incumbent on the weary to summon their reserves and drown their problems at the waters edge.
