It is a sobering thought to consider.
Have we have devolved to the point where we have more affinity to the confines of a political ideology…
than we do for our very humanity?
The one thing that separates us from the beasts of the field.
It bears repeating…. our humanity?
The absurdity of it all, but this is real life.
Consider this, allow me to channel my inner Capt. Kirk.
Disclaimer… I always wanted a starship (fact).
I speak fluent Trekkie – complements of my Pops (hat tip).
Observe.
A basic Star Trek / science analogy wrapped in a metaphor.

Theoretically speaking… if we were able to traverse to a distant planetary system – Alpha Centauri would be the closest planetary system to ours, just a scant 4.3 light years away.
I’m down, what say you?
Would we introduce ourselves as a delegate of the human race?
Or.
As a card carrying member of our respective political party with a holler and a yelp?
May I borrow an acronym?
GTFOH!
I shudder to think, should I have to ask?
But I must.
This… this… must be a parallel universe that we gotten switched with.
That said.
Let me off at the next wormhole.

A really timely post for me. I talked to an old friend yesterday who bemoaned that her sister–someone who calls herself a “true Christian”–voted for the candidate full of hate and vitriol. Why is it always those who trumpet their church-going that seem the least humane and Christ-like?

Kay… I have no answer for that, but I’m sure there is a place for that in the “wormhole” it is bizarre at best and sobering at worst.

Let’s take that hard right or left at the next galaxy, then :-). I’m all for the wormhole.

And… thanks for chiming in Kay, it is always good to hear from you my friend.
That question may give birth to another piece.
