Mad At You (May) National Poetry Month – Day two

They are mad at you
for persevering
not disappearing
smiling in your face
while cursing
your grace,
clenched teeth
fake smiles
empaths see it
for miles
for what it is…
and what it ain’t
I got some gems in the tank,
words to make you
think or
prose for you
to take home
in your brain stem
or the medulla oblongata,
hard pause…
let me get started
it is work to do,
I implore you to get off your rump
like my Bigmama, Aunt Lillian and em’
said… gon’ head.

Run tell that.

Second volley
Day 2
