When life ceases to make sense and routines threaten to drive a wedge between me and sanity, there are few courses of action.
When I was young, the frustrations of what I felt was out of my realm of control would often lead to tears of frustration and anger. As an adult, I’ve learned to embrace my journey with life and time, sometimes doing it begrudgingly. I’ve learned that “control” is the biggest fallacy known to man.
Control is a cruel illusion, the only thing that we have control over is how we accept the obstacles that are strewn in our path. The other element that we solely have control is enjoying this journey of life and time that we have been provided, as it is a fleeting and fragile thing. I’ve found that freeing myself from the pollution of routine that is the hustle and bustle of our daily grind is often the most liberating thing that I can do with my time… And it is in the realm of MY control. I’ve leaned to defer to the wisdom and serenity of nature as the cleansing power that it is. It is the garbage can for the overload that life sees fit to place in my lap.
Watching the water flow past me represents whatever that was on my plate weighting me down floating off into the distance, leaving me with a lighter load than what I had previously.
Looking out into the distance and to the sky lets me know that there are no limits, only the ones that I choose to place in my path.
Hearing nothing but the water, wind and my thoughts is the essence of CONTROL.

Couldn’t agree more. In the ‘traditional’ sense, control is such a negative thing. Harmony works so much better, but I like your new version!
