Getting up – A poem for those who have fallen

Walls closing in

push back.

Once, twice, thrice

falling mightily

sprawling onto

Laying prostrate

from the hoarseness of defeat.

Standing up –

stronger backs,

not lighter burdens

to pull the curtains back.

empowerment –

not weakness

that leaves

one in pieces

the telltale signs

creases of stress

tells best

blesses better

giving way to peace of mind

in time.

  1. I am digging through the crates and I found my first gem. Love this poem especially this part. “…standing up, stronger backs not lighter burdens” ❤
