As I wander

I’ve learned, albeit the hard way, that faith is something that must be cultivated.

For as long as I can remember, I operated under the supposition that faith could be summoned at a moment’s notice.

Only to find the tank empty.

Punctuated by a glaring absence of reserves, simply because I didn’t nurture the seed.

Unbeknownst to us, faith is watered with our tears on the trails that we wander.

They grow as we do – becoming the very thing that will sustain us.

I still wander, I’m still learning, endeavoring to be better, to be made whole.
