The demands of heroism

We give a tacit acknowledgement to our collective fear of heights –

when we neglect to climb the scaffolding that is the hypocrisy that hoists our heroes on pedestals that they are unworthy of.

We are heroic – not because of our foibles.

But, instead.

It is what we do – in spite of our acknowledgment of their influence.
