Sometimes it is necessary to float in the sea of our contradictions and shortcomings. Lest we drown… To dog paddle, to swim, to go with the current versus against it, in the name of self preservation. Humanity is fickle and it is this very trait. That leads to our demise… Submerged in the icy depths.

Pointing the finger – An epiphany
There is a sad tradition in America of blaming the powerless for the machinations of the well heeled and influential who have had a hand in creating said conditions that impact the whole. If you listen quietly… You can hear a chorus of chuckling because the joke is on those pointing the finger in theContinue reading “Pointing the finger – An epiphany”
Beatdown to Liftoff – An epiphany
Sometimes we are beat down so much by the travails of life that it seems intolerable at best. Are we being punished? Is it that we aren’t loved? Have we been forsaken? But… Maybe it is something else. Perhaps it is to reinforce a familiarity with the ground, the depths, that distance from our greatestContinue reading “Beatdown to Liftoff – An epiphany”
Food for the soul – An epiphany
As for me consistent inconsistency should be heralded, applauded and embraced, it keeps me nimble. I use to despair of the travails of life, until I realizedContinue reading “Food for the soul – An epiphany”
Power in a whisper – An epiphany
“God doesn’t need to shout when whispering is enough” is an ongoing refrain that I’ve employed in some of my essays over the course of the past year or so. Why? I’m not entirely sure, but I am inclined to lean towards the simplest of explanations and attribute it to divine intervention, but that wouldContinue reading “Power in a whisper – An epiphany”
Who is keeping track?
The polysemy of life is overwhelming, but at the very least it is consistently, inconsistent. Our attempts at conquest… The concept that we can tame that which we don’t truly understand is haughtiness at its best. Time is an example. We wear watches, mount clocks and we even have it emblazoned on our smartphones. OstensiblyContinue reading “Who is keeping track?”
Foundations – An epiphany
Our foundations are often shaken as testament and reminder that we have no control other than the adoration we tender to whom that “control” emits. I will not cry out in agony, instead I will cry out to the Almighty. Asking… In humility. Creator, Father, Mother, Divine Omnipotence, Lord. Not for an escape, but forContinue reading “Foundations – An epiphany”
